There are three main paper types we recommend, each with distinct qualities. For examples of each, please refer to the video below.
Fine Art Paper: is thicker and made from natural fibres. It can have a slight texture that works especially well with vintage artwork. Vintage art printed on fine art paper looks terrific when framed without glass, because of its slightly textured quality.
Canvas: many print shops have the option to print on canvas, either “gallery wrapped” (with the canvas stretched around a frame), or unwrapped, as a canvas print. Canvas has a luxe quality, and works especially well for prints with heavy brushstrokes and dimension.
Photo Paper: the most affordable option, printing on a matte or pearl paper produces beautiful results. Vintage artwork printed on photo paper can produce an almost silky, delicate finish that looks especially sharp when framed behind glass.
